During EXO’s MAMA days, the group used their faces not only as a means of promotion, but to fit the supernatural feel of the music video. While Kai, for instance, can be seen covered from head to chest, his art is more promotional with the members’ names being shown. On the other hand, the other members shown appear to be wearing masks, fitting the superpower concept.

Jay Park
 

Jay Park’s album, New Breed, saw him showing more than some skin, but rather his skeleton. He shocked fans with his cover art which featured an intricately painted skull on his face. Whether this was done to show that the music on the album showed the inner him or simply because it looked “swag”, it caught attention either way.

San E
 

This ex-JYP rapper may be known for his smiley, bright personality, but Rap Circus introduced fans to a slightly freaky San E. He truly brought out the horror-like feel of the video by only making appearances with his face covered with thick face paint. Simply by changing the style, he went from a villain to an evil clown, successfully scaring fans and netizens alike.

B.A.P
 

They’re the master of concepts, and they proved this further with their Badman promotions. The members of B.A.P proved how rough and tough they can be by slathering their faces in eye-catching face art. In an almost war-paint type of look, the boys managed to look badass and ready to fight simply by making use of some face paint.

VIXX
 

The members of VIXX recently shocked fans with their return to the stage as Hyde, an evil soul. As if their faces were canvases, the members each displayed tasteful, yet noticeable splashes of face art. Despite not making a huge difference in the members’ natural appearance, the black dripping from their eyes transformed them into the dark version of themselves.

G-Dragon
 

When it comes to perfectly matching a concept, G-Dragon is the master. While he may have previously shown off a black face and met some controversy, the black face seen in the Coup D’Etat music video was both awe-inspiring and shocking. With his entire face slathered with shimmering black face paint, he proved that hiding your face can sometimes make you even more noticeable.

KPOP hosts some of the best looking guys you've ever seen! They come in all types - sexy, smart, chic, hipster, gangster and many more! 'Cute' would probably be one of the most popular - so here is a list of 10 idols that I believe look harmless and adorable but then absolutely blow you away with their talent!

Big Bang's Daesung 

I remember when I first saw Daesung I was confused about his role in the group. Fast forward two years and he is one of my biggest biases in KPOP. He may have been stamped as part of the 'dumb and dumber' duo in Family Outing (rightfully so!) but it doesn't change the fact that Daesung is one fierce singer!

SHINee's Taemin

 

Remember when the maknae first started out? He was only 14! Now Taemin has evolved from the adorable kid that every wanted to hug to one of the fiercest singers in KPOP! He has taken over many of Jonghyun's high and long notes in the past and is blossoming into his own powerful role with every single SHINee releases!

B2ST's Yoseob

I know Yoseob must have immediately come to mind for half you readers! And for good reason - Yoseob's cute and adorable looks absolutely blow you away and take you off guard (have you seen his chubby cheeks?) and then you are immediately blown away by what a phenomenal singer he is!

Some of you (hopefully most of you) will remember Junsu's TVXQ days where he was dubbed the 'Angel' or 'Honorary Maknae' because of his sweet disposition. He is seriously the most talented man in KPOP in my eyes!

Rolling along with the TVXQ feel is the maknae Changmin. I fell in love with Changmin at first sight and was completely blown away by his talent. 'Soft' isn't the word for him at all right now but during his younger days the boy could pass as just the cute tall maknae. Now Changmin is the best singer-screamer in KPOP. Hands Down. All at odds with his cute mismatched smile!

2AM's Jinwoon

 

Discounting Jinwoon's body (there is nothing soft about that), if you follow Jinwoon on variety shows you know he is such a sweet guy - not someone you expect to break out into a soulful ballad! With his adorable face and amazing body you would think he would be more suited as 2PM member instead. But once you've heard his voice, it is easy to understand why he is in a singing group exclusively!

Super Junior's Ryewook

Ryeowook practically has 'fragile' stamped across his tiny body. But that tiny package shouldn't fool you - it houses a well of talent! Ryeowook completely startled me when I first heard him sing!

Super Junior M's Henry

Nicknamed "Mochi!" (cubby cheeks), Henry has the 'cute' factor down pact. He is probably the least threatening boy to look at (well, maybe Yoseob has him beat) but he has some serious set of pipes! Henry has worked incredibly hard and with his debut as a solo singer I can only see him getting better from here!

D.O. is no exception - he looks adorable (with his blank face) but once he get's singing it's like someone lit a fire behind his eyes.

B.A.P.'s Daehyun is just to talented (and cute) to not mention. To be super honest, when I first heard him all I could think of was 'Changmin 2.0' - Daehyun's high notes are seriously no joke! He may look cute and slender but there is a reason he can pull off B.A.P's super tough image!

[LIST] 10 Female K-Pop Songs That Should Have Been Promoted

We're back with another 10 Kpop songs that would have been well accepted by fans if they were only given a bit more attention, but this time let's take a look at some songs by girl groups.

Wonder Girls' "Me, In" from their Wonder World album would have been a great title track for the album instead of "Be My Baby." Sure, people might have liked "Be My Baby" because it was so similar to the extremely popular "Single Ladies" by Beyonce, but "Me, In" would have been a cooler concept for them to use since it's so different from what they've done before. In fact, wasn't their teaser featuring this song too?

Sistar's "Summer Time" from their recent Give It to Me album would have been a popular summer song, since it was released in the summer, and it is great for jamming to in this hot weather. They could easily have made a music video for this song featuring the girls in bikinis that would have garnered a lot of attention from male fans.

SNSD's "Baby Maybe" from their I Got a Boy album is a cute and uplifting songs that fans would love to hear live, especially with its lyrics that would engage the audience, "Put your hands up if you feel like this."

IU's "Heart Beating Date" from the IU...IM album is a really cute song, just like "Marshmallow" and since she suits the cute image so well, I'm sure she would have made the performances super cute as well. A lot of girls who listen to this song would also probably be able to connect with the lyrics.

2NE1's "Love is Ouch" from their To Anyone album strays from their usual tough girl act and has more of a gentler, calmer feel to it. It would be nice to see them try performing this kind of style for a change.

4minute's "Gimme That" from the Name is 4Minute EP reminds me a bit of "Huh," which was a pretty good song so I think this song would be really popular too. To be honest, I don't really like their title song, "What's My Name," and any other song from the EP would be better for promoting.

f(x)'s "So Into You" from the Pinnochio album is a very sweet song that I would like to see them sing live, since it is different from the usual dance-pop that they do. They have yet to have a song of this style as a title song, and this would be perfect since it features their vocals nicely and all the members have a singing part in the song. This is also my favorite track in the album!

Miss A's "Break It" from the A Class album is a very catchy song that they danced to the beginning of for their debut, but I would like to see them do a performance of the full song.

BoA's "Did Ya" from her English album, BoA, is one of my favorite songs from that album. I loved it the first time I heard it, as I'm sure many other fans would have as well if they had gotten a chance to hear it.

As one of the more underrated groups, I thought I should include SPICA as well. The track "Anger" from the Russian Roulette EP is more mellow than the other tracks on this list, but it is a song that features their powerful vocals and has an enchanting feel to it that would capture the audience's attention. Being able to hear this live would definitely have been epic.

[LIST] 10 Male K-Pop Songs That Should Have Been Promoted

When Kpop idols release new songs, people usually only pay attention to the songs that get promoted, which are mostly title tracks and singles. However, many other great songs get lost in the album that most people don't purchase. To save you all the time it would take to go through every single song from every album to find the good songs, here are some great tracks that I thought deserve more attention.

First up is EXO's "Heart Attack" from their newest album, XOXO. I would love to see them come up with a dance to this track since it has a nice beat and catchy chorus. If this were a song they were promoting, I'll bet the live performances would have been amazing!
Korean version

SHINee's "Love Still Goes On" is one of my favorites from the Lucifer album. Although I agree that "Lucifer" was the best choice for the title track, this song would have made a great single. It is just as catchy and upbeat as SHINee's other songs like "Juliette" and "Amigo."

Teen Top's "So Sweet" from the No. 1 album is a great party song, and I think fans would love hearing it live. The track already has a background of audience cheering, so it would just boost the energy of a live audience and enhance the performance.

B1A4's "You Are My Girl" from the Ignition album is another song I would love to listen to at a concert. To my knowledge, they have performed this on stage only a few times, but I think it would have done really well as a title track. Just listening to it makes me want to dance along.

Beast's "Though I Call" from the Fiction album is not an upbeat song like the last three, but it features the vocals of the group, which is something that tends to get overshadowed when the only things the fangirls focus on is their dancing and good looks in their title tracks such as "Beautiful Night" and "Shock." Promoting this song would be good for promoting their voices.

When I first heard BAP's "Coma" from the One Shot EP, I thought it sounded like it could be a song in a drama. It is very mysterious and dramatic, like its title, and once again, Bang Yong Guk and Zelo do a terrific job with the rapping.

UKISS's "Everyday" from Bran New Kiss EP is a song that tends to get stuck in my head often because of the catchy line in the chorus "e-e-e-everyday." If they were to perform this more at concerts and make a music video, I'm sure it would be very well known since it would get stuck in everyone's heads.

Super Junior's "L.O.V.E" from their debut album Super Junior 05 brings me back to the time when I first started listening to Kpop. As a song from 2005, it still sounds pretty good in terms of what's popular now.

Although we haven't heard much from Block B since the scandal with their rude remarks about the Thailand floods, Block B's "Action" from Welcome to the Block EP would have been a good song for them to sing live. They must have known it was a catchy song too since they released a remix of it in the repackaged version as well.

Infinite's "Shot" from the Inspirit single sounds very similar to their other title songs such as "The Chaser" and "Before the Dawn", so I think it would do just as well as they did. Since it was only in a single album, it got overlooked because the two other songs in the single, "Nothing's Over" and "Can You Smile", were the ones that got promoted.

[LIST] 10 K-Pop Idols To Go on an MT With

 

Although MT usually stands for mountain, in Korea, MT takes on a whole new meaning. It stands for 'membership training' (엠티) and serves as a mean to build strength and unity within a group. Many students especially in college go on these trips to remote areas like temples and (yes) the mountain side. So, it got me thinking how AWESOME it would be to go on a MT with idol stars who have a proven variety show record. It would be fun to hang out with them without all the makeup and flashy outfits.

If there ever was a contest where I could choose 10 idols to go on a MT with, these are the idols that I would pick because I love to laugh and have fun.

2AM’s Jo Kwon

How can you go on a MT and not invite funny man Jo Kwon?! Although he stopped doing his hilarious body shaking dance, Jo Kwon has proven on variety shows like Star King that he can be the life of the party with his bright personality and free-spirited manner. Since a MT is all about building bonds, I can’t think of a better person than Jo Kwon to help others let go and be themselves. Plus, he has an amazing voice that would be perfect to listen to while seating around a campfire.

KARA’s Goo Hara

 

I loved her on Invincible Youth because she was so funny and laid-back at the same time. She actually did things that no other member would do like spray paint DJ Koo’s bottom and tell Secret’s Sunhwa that she needs to study math more. Her bright personality shines through her actions. It seems like she has something funny to say all the time. Also, it would be interesting to see how she behaves around Lee Hyori.

Shinhwa’s Minwoo

 
Well, a MT would not be complete without idol veteran Minwoo. Personally, I've always wanted to go on a MT with the members of Shinhwa especially Minwoo after watching the first episode of their hit variety show Shinhwa Broadcast. I feel that Minwoo is regularly a funny person and has the ability to light up any trip. When everyone else is quiet, I can picture him doing something funny to get everybody laughing and more laid-back.

SNSD’s Jessica

Known as the peculiar one, Jessica brings something special to the group. Her quirky personality will be a good contrast to the always silly manner of Jo Kwon or Minwoo. Also, I think her experience being a MC will help get conversations going among the group. Plus, she might have something interesting to say to solve awkward or silent moments.

ZE:A’s Kwanghee

Oh, where do I start with Kwanghee…his bubbly personality…his comedic side? Definitely being the most outspoken and exposed member of ZE:A, Kwanghee has the ability to turn a not so funny thing into a humorous one. Come on, he is able to poke fun at himself and still smile about it. There was a reason why he guest starred on Strong Heart so many times and that is because he is a funny man. I would like to see what crazy things he can do when with Jo Kwon, Lee Hyori, Minwoo, and Jessica.

Big Bang’s Daesung

I go back to his Family Outing days where he was so funny and carefree. Also, it would be fun to see the reunion of him and Lee Hyori. Since Big Bang always has good stories to tell, I feel like he would have some great tales about his fellow members to share. Plus, Daesung is someone who anyone can like and love to be with.

Lee Hyori

How can you not include k-pop and variety show queen Lee Hyori. She was so funny on Family Outing and really carried the show. I had a blast watching her be a guest star on Barefoot Friends and causing funny situations. She has that special charm that can cause a group of complete strangers to get along quickly.

Miss A’s Suzy

Besides being the ‘nation’s first love’, Suzy has a bright and bubbly personality that everyone can like. Plus, I enjoyed watching Invincible Youth 2 because of her and Sunhwa. I agree that Suzy is a calmer person when compared to Goo Hara, but I think that aspect is her charm. She knows when to be silly and fun but doesn’t go over the top. Also, it would be fun to see how she reacts when being with more vocal stars like Lee Hyori and Kwanghee.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk

There is a reason why Leeteuk had permanent MC-like roles on various variety shows like Star King and Strong Heart before enlisting in the military. Well, that particular reason is Leeteuk is super funny. He knows how to make others laugh and just have fun. He seems to have an endless list of funny stories to share and isn’t afraid to poke fun at himself. With Minwoo and Daesung in the same group, I would like to see what crazy things the three of them will do or say.

Secret’s Sunhwa

If Kwanghee is part of the group, then I need to add Sunhwa to the guest list. It would be interesting to see how the former We Got Married on-screen couple would react after being apart some time. I think it will lead to loads of laughter since both stars are really funny. Her cheery personality will be a great addition to the group because she has the ability to bring out the best of people. Plus, I think she would feel at home with Suzy and Goo Hara.
